The Pan Asia Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PAAFPRS) is an international non-profit medical society incorporated under the statutes of Hong Kong, its current administrative headquarters.
Its members are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the advancement of plastic and reconstructive surgery of the head, face and neck. Membership is open to all physicians and surgeons who are certified by their national medical governing body within the member countries of the Asian Continent, and who have had training and experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head and neck. Any appropriately qualified physician and surgeon in the world can also join our truly international association.
The Academy was formed to stimulate scientific advancement through education and fellowship in the field of facial plastic surgery and to improve the skills of those active in this practice through excellence in education. The PAAFPRS is a recognized member society of the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgical Societies (IFFPSS), and as such acts as the bridge for PAAFPRS members interested in gaining International Board Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (IBCFPRS). In addition to obtaining specialty qualifications in their respective fields of expertise in their home countries, a growing number of our members have successfully passed the examination conducted by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to gain certification by the IBCFPRS.
The prime purpose of our Academy is to foster interest and encourage interaction for residents and surgical practitioners in this type of regional specialty practice. Our membership specialists involved in this area include Otolaryngologists - Head and Neck Surgeons, Ophthalmologists, Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons, General Plastic Surgeons, and Dermatologists.
